A Touch of Gray

September 10, 2013

I’ll admit, I have bought into the gray trend. As the newest neutral, it pairs so well with other colors. It also looks fabulous standing alone. It has more depth than ivory, more interest than white and is more cheerful than black. With a wide array of shades, there is a perfect gray for every style and taste.

This modern bath is a shades of gray tri-fecta. Subway tile bath and shower surround, with a darker gray tile separating the floor from the walls and a slate blue gray tile to anchor the look on the floor.  I love the simplicity of this bath.

My love of color is not lost on my new found affection for gray.  A punch of color against a gray room is just the perfect touch.  Whether it is yellow, pink or a splash of orange, gray looks fresh paired with a great color.

I adore the idea of a monochromatic gray scheme. There are so many patterns and shades of gray to mix and match for an exciting look. Repeating the same shade would be dull and only leave you feeling downtrodden. As with any monochromatic scheme, it’s the way interesting elements are incorporated that makes the room appealing.
